Title:  Reliability Strategies for Network Function Virtualization and Cloud Networks

Date: Monday January 29, 11h

Place: LIA,  metting room of the ground floor? (to be confirmed)

Abstract: The increasing adoption of network function virtualization and, more generically, service virtualization calls for new reliability strategies where network resources (bandwidth) and computing resources (servers/virtual machines) are jointly allocated to achieve cost-effective cloud-network protection. The talk introduces the concept of Content Connectivity (as opposed to Network Connectivity) in cloud networks and overviews some new research problems arising in the field of reliable service chaining and cloud resiliency.

Short bio:  Massimo Tornatore is an Associate Professor with the Department of Electronics, Information, and Bioengineering, at Politecnico di Milano.
